How to Install Snap-in Boat Carpet
Upgrading your boat's flooring with Matworks is easier than ever. Our marine cockpit carpet sets make it easy to refresh your deck while adding both comfort and protection. All of our standard carpet, specialty carpet, premium design, specialty Duraweave and teak style Duraweave flooring come with snaps for a quick and easy installation process.
Because snap placement can vary from one boat to the next, our snaps are sent loose instead of pre-installed. This allows you to align your new flooring with your boat's existing snap studs for the perfect fit.
How to Install Your New Cockpit Carpet
Ready to install your new cockpit carpet? Grab a Sharpie marker and a snap tool. Then, follow these simple steps:
- Position the carpet: Lay one piece of carpet down at a time, making sure it's centered and covering all snap studs on your deck.
- Mark the snap locations: Starting at the top left corner, pull back the carpet edge and use a Sharpie marker to color the tops of the snap studs. Press the carpet back down to leave a mark where the snap should go.
- Install and secure: Attach each snap where the marks are, beginning from the left and working your way right. This ensures your carpet remains centered and stays aligned as you move down the boat.
